How To | D.I.Y Spot Bleached & Distressed Jeans

Today after being inspired over the weekend I decided to do a D.I.Y spot bleach and distressed look on a pair of skinny jeans I own. It’s really easy to do and you only need a few things to turn an old pair of jeans into something amazing.

To do this project you will need:

1. Denim Jeans
2. Bleach
3. Paint brush or old cup

Bleaching:

First lay your pair of jeans down on something ( I did mine outside on the grass), if your going to lay it down on something that you don’t want to get stained lay a thick towel or newspapers under the pair of jeans.
Next pour a little bit of bleach into a cup. Now here is where you can have fun, I did mine by pouring and spattering the jeans with the bleach. But you can also use a paint brush to get more precise blotches and patterns, It’s really up to personal taste. After covering your jeans in patters and sprays or whatever you you feel like leave it for 5-15 minutes depending on how long it takes the bleach to fade the jeans.
Lastly put the jeans in a double rinse cold washing machine to clean them up a bit and mostly get rid of that bleach smell.

Distressing:

To distress your jeans you will need.

1. Sharp scissors
2. Sand paper
3. Jeans

First you will want to make cuts in your jeans the size is up to you. After doing this run sand paper across it till it starts to have a shredded worn look. Then you are done. How easy was that?

What To Wear With It:

You can wear these pants with a variety of things here i’ll give you some pointers.

Look 1 – Start of with your newly distressed jeans, then pair with a white v neck t-shirt, a charcoal or black blazer, and lastly a pair of loafers. Your are good to go for a trip to the movies or a laid back party.

Look 2 – Again start of with your distressed jeans, then pair with a dressier button up shirt, cardigan, and bow tie. then finish with a pair of wing-tips or loafers.

Closing:

Now that you have a few looks to go on, be confident and go out and have some fun.
