Essentials | Summer Footwear For Men

Can you believe that summer is only a month away? I’m sure by now you have already started to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring/summer, but do you know what shoes your should be wearing. In the following post I will tell you what the best shoes to wear to keep your feet cool, stylish, and on trend this season.

Trending:

This season bright colours and pastels are trending heavily with anything from boat shoes to driving loafers being given new life.

The Essentials:

Boat Shoes:

Boat shoes are once again the shoes of choice for summer, traditionally worn by sailors they have made an urban appearance looking very nice when worn with rolled up chinos and sockless, or worn with jeans, make sure to make yours on trend either in bright colours or in a pastel. Also try them in a canvas material for extra comfort and to keep your feet cool.

Desert Shoes:

These shoes seem to make the list each spring/summer season, and with good cause. They are fantastic teamed with a pair of indigo jeans and a linen or cotton blazer for a night out for dinner or club.

Espadrilles:

Espadrilles are a stylish way to keep comfortable and cool, they are able to be worn with shorts or even rolled up chinos.

Flip-Flops:

Wearing flip flops anywhere other than the shower room is a risky choice, it has been debated about for some time, and can be difficult to know where to draw the line. While I am listing them as a summer essential the locations where they can be worn is limited. Wear them with shorts either at the pool or beach, and of course the shower room. But make sure to change your shoes when you leave these places.

Plimsoles:

A type of shoe very much like an espadrille but able to be worn in more locations. Wear them with jeans, or shorts for a cool summer look.
